Creator Day Houston 2015 LAST YEAR at the House of Dereon

Hey lovies! Before I get into my content with this year's YouTube Creator Day I wanted to share my experience with last year's, the first year they were running them.

I attended Creator Day Houston, #CreatorDayHOU, in August 2015 at The House of Dereon downtown Houston. Yes, Bey's "house"! The event kicked off with an intro from Matthew Knowles. It was so surreal to be in a room with ACTUAL people from YouTube (they're not robots!) and like-minded creators. The event coordinators were from different YouTube departments sharing their knowledge on growing your channel with topics covering user experience, collaborations, and general tidbits on YouTube. They were really passionate and shared some information that you literally would have to ask an employee at YouTube to know the definitive answer. This day also included interactive activities, a guest appearance by Bunny Meyer (grav3yardgirl), refreshments and a happy hour for networking. I went home with a page full of YouTube stickers to place all over my gear, a red leather bound YouTube Journal, a YouTube pen and bursting with motivation.

This day was extremely eye opening and I made a few connections with similar creators that still exist today. If you want to attend one of these, which I highly recommend at least for networking, check your dashboard frequently for invitations to Creator Day. Events are now finished for the season, but click here where it takes to the registration where you can fill in your location to try to get one near you. Requirements now call for at least 1000 subscribers to limit attendees to a more serious crowd in need of a boost to get a channel going.

Cool Toned Smokey Eye with Red Lip

Hello lovies! This tutorial is a how to on cool toned smoky eyes paired with a red lip for night time special occasions, like prom, as a wedding guests, or clubbing! In this tutorial I also go over techniques for long lasting, sweatproof makeup that is great with flash photography, using mostly drugstore and affordable products! This is such a classic sultry look and I loved sharing it with you!
