Epic Forever21 Haul

Ok, so maybe the pieces aren't exactly "epic." What I'm referring to is the editing! I've become intrigued with "Jumper effects" and I decided to apply it to clothing. I filmed this in December, and every time I go to to edit this video I get annoyed and start working on something else. I pretty much had to edit this by ear, like a lot of my videos. If you didn't (and probably don't because I don't discuss it often) know my video card is pretty slow and I don't actually get to see my videos smoothly until it is rendered or on YouTube. It's pretty choppy and the "blue coat" segment will probably make an epileptic person catch a seizure. No joke.

Since I didn't take additional photos and I doubt these are still in stock, I'll just write a little something about how I feel about each piece.

The blue corset with black sequins - This piece is actually a body suit that has snap closures at the crotch, and it buttons corset style in the front. It also had detachable, adjustable straps much like a bra. I loved this top, but it is one of the few Forever21 items that has fallen apart on me on the first wear. The crotch area ripped and one half of the one of the closures is detached to the fabric. I adjusted the straps to make sure my top didn't fall down and the loops for the straps to go into frayed and broke!

The mustard polka dot chiffon blouse - I LOVE this blouse. It's a great piece so much so that my sister wanted to take it before I even wore it. Now that's rare, it's usually the other way around and I want HER pieces. Anyway I love everything about it except for the bell sleeves. For a quick fix, you can always tuck bell sleeves underneath and have the elastic keep it under.

Red button down with frilly detailing - If you may recall this top was in my Christmas Eve Outfit of the Day video. It has enough volume to look good buttoned all the way up, and the doily-like detailing makes the top special.

Yellow tag sweater - I loved this sweater on the hanger. That's what I get for not thoroughly trying it on. My problem with this piece is the sleeves. It slightly flares out at the end so I have to fold it to not be as noticeable.

Hot pink cardigan - I try to stray away from pink, but I just can't. This cardigan has larger than normal buttons with a grandpa length. The con of this sweater is that it's inevitably balling up and the hem up the sleeves doesn't stretch.

Yellow tag pea coat - I couldn't help myself. I have become obsessed with royal blue and I had to have this coat especially because it was $15. It is very thin, short in length, and lacks pockets. But it's a very nice coat to have in the south since it's not too bulky.

Puffy shoulder basic a-line dress - I kept seeing people buying this dress and also bought this blindly for Thanksgiving (that should give you an idea of how late I am on this video). It was a great choice. It's quite simple but classy with its conservative neckline and a-line skirt. Belts always add some spice to outfits and shape to your silhouette so I went with a navy blue to not exactly match but stay within the color family. The patent leather pumps are Charlotte Russe.

Square sequin body con skirt - Another love! Of course I normally don't buy clothing unless I am in love. I don't really remember wearing this anywhere but work. A con is that the sequins catch easily on other things, and sequin pieces from Forever normally don't have their threads secure.

Cheetah wedge booties - Probably my favorite and most expensive buy of the bunch. I always see these come back into stock but they're always so expensive for Forever21 shoes.. Like 30 bucks! They are comfortable to walk in for some time, but once I walked around with "no socks" and my feet hurt! The first time I probably wore more cushioned socks. I love them a lot but for some reason they make my size 6 feet look slightly bigger and are kind of harder to pair do to it cutting off so low at the ankles.

So those are most of the pieces I bought for the end of last year! I have a lot more pieces to show, so stay tuned for my next clothing video!

New Years Eve Outfit of the Day

Hey lovelies! Hope your new year is off to a great start! I just decided to film my New Years Eve outfit of the day for work. Boy let me tell you, it is hard wearing something that is out of stock and in demand in a retail store! Being a walking mannequin is no joke. I was seriously considering taking off my shorts and walking around in Spanx.

For my outfit I wanted to wear a lot of sequins without looking like a huge glitterball. What is NYE without sequins? My main piece was a pair of striped black and blue sequin shorts. Since they were high waisted with no details like pockets or buttons, I lost shape in my butt. To fix that I wore my favorite Victoria’s Secret Body Shaper to shape that booty! I opted for a tank that had a short, faux vest with black sequins to not take away from the sequins on the bottom but still be festive. Since the black tank was solid, it broke up the sequins to not clash. I added a slightly cropped blazer and medium opacity tights to add a small amount of class. Otherwise, I’d probably look like I was ready to work Bourbon Street if you know what I mean! Blazers and tights instantly add a conservative yet casual look depending on how you style them. To top (or rather, bottom, haha) off the look I chose a pair of Gianni Bini black cowboy boots. I wanted something edgy but nothing with a crazy heel so I could work comfortably in them. My only other accessory was a pair of blue glittery heart shaped earrings since there were so many other sparkly items in this look.

OUTFIT:
  • Top: Almost Famous (from a store like TJ Maxx or Marshalls, I forget which)
  • Blazer: Forever 21; slightly cropped with gold buttons, rolled up sleeves.
  • Shorts: Forever 21
  • Tights: Forever 21
  • Boots: Gianni Bini at Dillard’s
  • Earrings: Forever 21

  • Blush: NYX powder blush in “Mocha”
  • Highlight: MAC MSF in “Perfect Topping”

EYES --- I kind of just winged it as I went along
  • NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in “Milk” as a base for the lid color
  • MAC “Contrast” as the lid color base for the glitter
  • Cosmetic glitter that I “received as a gift” with my 120 pro palette (aqua and royal blue)
  • L’Oreal clear lip gloss as an adhesive for the glitter (bad idea)
  • Make Up For Ever Aqua Eyes pencil in “Black” as a base for the cut crease
  • MAC “Carbon”
  • MAC “Cork”
  • Urban Decay “Virgin”
  • 120 pro palette colors on the lower lash line
  • L’Oreal HIP cream liner in black
  • Model 21 lashes in #111

  • NYX Lipliner pencil in “Rose”
  • Revlon Color Burst lipstick in “Soft Nude”… lol.

*Note: I've been trying to render this for days! I am getting so aggravated but something is probably wrong with my computer and not the program =T

Pink Tory Burch Eddie Flats for Breast Cancer Research

Watch the video on YouTube!

Hey lovelies! So a little while ago I received a pair of Pink Eddie Tory Burch flats from my lovely boyfriend. They are limited edition and 15% of the proceeds up to 15,000 is going to the Breast Cancer Research Fund. It's always great to look fabulous and give back!

He ordered on Black Friday and was able to get free shipping plus a lovely tote bag. It is canvas with a cardboard canvas lining and a design and logo imprinted. It cautions though that it may bleed in the wash.

As for the flats, they are the most comfortable shoes I own. These were truly made for women's feet. I am so used to wearing crap shoes that I forget what it's like to actually have insoles.

The flats are super comfortable. They do have to be further broken in though. Every stitch on this shoe is perfect, everything is aligned perfectly. They have a patent leather upper and a rubber sole. The site recommends going a size up, but the size he ordered (US 6) was perfect and for my feet true to size.

These lack the iconic Tory Burch medallion but it does have the stamped treatment in the back as well as the logo on the heel. It also has faux stitching in rubber on the soles.

They also have a logo stitched into the insoles:

Please watch this video of my Christmas outfit of the day! I didn't take any invidual pictures, and I was too tired to take any close ups as it was 3am. I won't post any family pictures because I've been verbally told to not post up any pictures of the kids EVER. I can barely post them on Facebook. I'm really sorry about that. So this is just going to be a listing of what I wore.

Here is the collage that I made in Photoshop for the beginning of the video:

And here is a picture of just the tree! I think it's 12 feet or something like that. I have 11 ft ceilings downstairs so it should be around there.

Deck Out Your Nails in Holly! (Last Minute Holly Leaves Nail Design)

Don't have any ideas for your holiday mani? MakeupANNimal GOTCHUUUUU. Watch my latest video on how to create your own holly leaf nail art.

My nails with the design. My fingers are wrapped around a cute little present shaped ornament!

Products used:

Seche Clear Base Coat
China Glaze - "White on White" as a base color (cream finish white)
O.P.I. - "Stars in My Eyes" overlaid on top of the base color (sheer gray with fine silver glitter) on all nails except the ring finger.
China Glaze - "Emerald Sparkle" (sparkly emerald green, I think from a Wizard of Oz collection)
L.A. Girl Flare - A no name sparkly red.
Seche Vite Top Coat

Tools:
Plastic shopping bag to put nail polish on.
Toothpick for designs
Standard pin for dotting.

I've had quite a few compliments from people that have noticed and the China Glaze is holding up very well despite the dinging up I put it through at work. Only my index finger has chipped badly so far after three days.
