I have seen a few waterproof articles and it was interesting (and a process) to put some of these new products to the test, so I wanted to give a breakdown on them and some information that is perpetuated about waterproof makeup.

My pur~lisse BB tinted moist cream is the first BB cream I own and I'm getting used the the idea of light coverage vs. full. It gives me just enough to cover redness yet shows my freckles (which I want) and doesn't cake through the day. I didn't get to this in the video, but even though the BB cream did not stay 100% and may have affected the staying power of the rest of my face products, it still wore down evenly and beautifully. This never promised to be waterproof, so I chose this based on what I would actually wear in a beach situation. I would definitely wear this again for everyday use and for a light product in the summer.

The NYX proof it!* My gosh. When I was testing this out on my arm I layered a mediocre metallic shadow on it and the spot with the primer was vibrant as HECK. I would definitely try this to make shadows more vibrant. I did experience a little creasing, but nothing too offensive.

Anastasia Dip Brow.* Get it. Your brows will thank you. It is waterproof for me especially in conjunction with the Clear Brow Gel* for a waterproof coat along with a tame. It is not for beginners and takes some time to control the amount of product, but I wouldn't go back to pencils or powders if I want that fleeky brow.

The Maybelline Color Tattoo is a product that are often mentioned on waterproof lists. It works well in water, but aren't infallible. Keep in mind that wearing makeup in water is going to wear down sometime, so don't always expect something like 8 hours of water wear.

The Benefit Dew the Hoola* and Hoola matte bronzer* combination was pretty but didn't last long. I was a bit frustrated with my contour but went on beautifully on my forehead. The Dew the Hoola at least in sample sizing was erring on the orange side for my taste, the powder is a great color and I will use it again. If you are VIB or Rouge you can use the code VIBBRONZEME to get this deluxe set with $35 purchase until supplies last.

The Benefit Sun Beam* liquid highlighter and Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector pressed in Opal combination is a highlighter match made in heaven. Not only was it gorgeous but I could see the identity of the iridescent gleam Sun Beam and the glittery Opal at closer inspection and it lasted until I took my makeup off. I never noticed how long lasting the shimmering skin perfectors are and I am realizing that it was well worth my $38 for a compact. I did find a Glow on the Go* value set with a mini pressed and liquid form of Opal and they are tiny but pack the same punch!

I wanted to love the Make Up For Ever Aqua XL eye pencil.* I purchased no. D-12 which is a matte black with gold flecks in it. I tried it in store, drowning it in Smashbox primer water*, and rubbing the heck out of it with little wearing down. I am extremely sad that it still transferred. Remnants were in my waterline but also transferred all below it and took away from my post-swim look. It was still a goopy mess in my waterline even with the waterproof formula. I want to try this on my top lash line to see it it fares better, but I might have to return it if it doesn't perform well, since it's $21 for this pencil. I used to own the old Aqua pencil formula and it has slightly improved since then but still transfers almost the same.

The Waterproof Crème Color* holds up very nicely if you get a consistent line without flakes at application. I mention having to revive the product with Tarte Maracuja oil* because it dried and cracked on me within the first months of owning it. If you don't want to waste expensive product, Anastasia's team recommended that I use baby oil.

The Better than Sex Waterproof mascara* isn't getting great reception so far, but I enjoyed it. I wore it one day for regular wear and it kept my lashes curled and stayed for the most part as long as you let it properly dry. It offers volume but not too much on length. It wore down slightly in the water but stayed on the rest of the day. It is a stubborn formula since it is waterproof, and needs waterproof makeup remover to get off. The packaging is such a plus for me. There are way more expensive mascaras with just sleek black packaging and nothing amazing. The packing on the Better than Sex Waterproof is such a collector's piece. It is an easy-on-the-eyes mint blue ocean color with raised bumps as water droplets, and the tube itself is heavy and luxurious. The hourglass shaped mascara wand is great for coating lashes.

I had high hopes for the NYX Rouge Cream Blush + Amazonian 12-Hour Blush* combo. Had I blended the cream blush as much as I did, it may have had a better chance in the water. I used to use the cream blush all the time for going out so I know it is sweat proof for sure. Since I wanted a more natural and blended flush, it was not very pigmented on the cheek to begin with.

Anastasia liquid lipsticks* are plenty in my collection, and Dolce wore very well in the water and throughout the rest of the day with just slight wearing in the inner rim. I have worn them to the beach for a bold lip, and with lip balm, this keeps blocks my lips from sunburn.

The NYX Set it, Don't Fret it* mineral finishing powder was very lightweight and good for setting creams. The premise of using creams is to block out water, but setting them prevents the cream from melting from your face.

It is very hard to tell if finishing sprays are doing their job, but I think the Urban Decy de-slick* did a great job at melting the powder and creams together and keeping away shine all day. I struggled with the bottle because the spray wasn't pushing down to mist the product properly, probably because I have a cheaper travel size version. The packaging (box and bottle itself) has that velvet feeling and gets dirty very easily. I will have to play with this product a little more to notice the difference.

I am so bougie and I love CHI products, and the Total Protect Defense Lotion is a new addition and I already love it. This is a travel size and has a very convenient plastic clip to stop the pump from pushing down. Ace! After playing in the chlorine pool for about an hour and a half, shooting the recap of my video and showering, it did a really good job at protecting my hair and adding moisture as promised. In conjunction with the CHI silk infusion and Not Your Mother's In a Heartbeat* blow dry accelerator, my hair felt the softest and smoothest in my ENTIRE LIFE. I'm talking I couldn't pop out of the womb with such nice and soft, thick hair. Is this what having multiple hair products feel like? Because I've been missing out.

Here are before and after shots. The left is before and the right is after. It was an overcast day so there are variations in lighting.

If I were to do it again, I would use everything except the waterproof XL liner and make minor adjustments. I cannot wait to put this to a beach test!
