Pink Tory Burch Eddie Flats for Breast Cancer Research

Watch the video on YouTube!

Hey lovelies! So a little while ago I received a pair of Pink Eddie Tory Burch flats from my lovely boyfriend. They are limited edition and 15% of the proceeds up to 15,000 is going to the Breast Cancer Research Fund. It's always great to look fabulous and give back!

He ordered on Black Friday and was able to get free shipping plus a lovely tote bag. It is canvas with a cardboard canvas lining and a design and logo imprinted. It cautions though that it may bleed in the wash.

As for the flats, they are the most comfortable shoes I own. These were truly made for women's feet. I am so used to wearing crap shoes that I forget what it's like to actually have insoles.

The flats are super comfortable. They do have to be further broken in though. Every stitch on this shoe is perfect, everything is aligned perfectly. They have a patent leather upper and a rubber sole. The site recommends going a size up, but the size he ordered (US 6) was perfect and for my feet true to size.

These lack the iconic Tory Burch medallion but it does have the stamped treatment in the back as well as the logo on the heel. It also has faux stitching in rubber on the soles.

They also have a logo stitched into the insoles:

Deck Out Your Nails in Holly! (Last Minute Holly Leaves Nail Design)

Don't have any ideas for your holiday mani? MakeupANNimal GOTCHUUUUU. Watch my latest video on how to create your own holly leaf nail art.

My nails with the design. My fingers are wrapped around a cute little present shaped ornament!

Products used:

Seche Clear Base Coat
China Glaze - "White on White" as a base color (cream finish white)
O.P.I. - "Stars in My Eyes" overlaid on top of the base color (sheer gray with fine silver glitter) on all nails except the ring finger.
China Glaze - "Emerald Sparkle" (sparkly emerald green, I think from a Wizard of Oz collection)
L.A. Girl Flare - A no name sparkly red.
Seche Vite Top Coat

Tools:
Plastic shopping bag to put nail polish on.
Toothpick for designs
Standard pin for dotting.

I've had quite a few compliments from people that have noticed and the China Glaze is holding up very well despite the dinging up I put it through at work. Only my index finger has chipped badly so far after three days.

L.A. Girl CRACKED vs. O.P.I. Shatter.

The other day I was looking for a little gift to go with my KK's stuff at Hot Topic. I chose a Domo lanyard (lanyards were on his list) and everything in store was buy one get one 50% off. So instinctively I couldn't pass that up. I tried to look for something cheap and worth while to get for the deal. I came across this L.A. Girl Cracked nail polish.

There are eight colors listed on the site but the one I chose was Explode. It is an almost frosty royal blue color.

The product is quite decent for its price. It is originally $6.00 on the site and at Hot Topic for $4.99 and 50% off with the deal --- so $2.50 before tax. The cracks don't quite separate as well as the O.P.I. Shatter does. Click here to see it on Hot Topic's website.

I would definitely prefer buying this one over the O.P.I. ones at a discounted price. $2.50 is definitely a good deal over $8.50. At first I did not like the product because of its finish and inability to crack on a small surface. But after slapping on some top coat I loved it. Top coat makes everything better. Would I repurchase other colors? Most likely. Especially if Forever 21 starts retailing them. They already retail L.A. regular polishes.

Products used:
  •  Seche Clear Base Coat
  • [No name] metallic charcoal gray Love & Beauty polish
  • L.A. Girl Cracked nail polish in "Explode"
  • O.P.I. Shatter in "Black Shatter"
  • Seche Vite Fast Dry Top Coat
Bonus: It's cruelty free! =)

I promised on YouTube I would show the jacked up brush, so here it is:

Victoria's Secret PINK - New Orleans Saints Lace-Up Crew

Hello lovelies! When I'm not working or have a large load at school, Fridays are "sister days!"

SIDE STORY: Today my sister Mary and I trekked Kenner in the GNO (Greater New Orleans area) to have McAlister's. She was feeling a little bit under the weather and was craving for a baked potato and soup. Bad choice. I love McAlister's in Slidell (the area my boyfriend Anthony lives in) but the Kenner location is not up to par anymore. She lost her appetite firstly because the utensils they gave us to eat with were DISGUSTING. I used to work in restaurants; I always polished my silverware and I hate it when I see water spots. But this was beyond that. The utensils had this build up on them that it seemed like they tried to scrub it with Brillo and failed. We had to ask for plastic ones -_- Second, my sister wasn't digging the new "Angus" spud. When she said it was red they replied, "Oh, you wanted it well done?" Ummm... You didn't really ask us for a cooking temperature. Not to mention the beef wasn't all that piping hot. The girl at the cashier was super nice though and pretty much took our order, ran our food, got us the utensils we wanted AND obliged to getting my sister a new grilled chicken spud instead. Needless to say, she got tipped (McAlister's states they actually don't encourage tipping on the menu, but they will accept it anyway). My sister lost her appetite so much though that she couldn't eat, plus she was already feeling sick to begin with. What a waste! She at least got her money's worth though, that second potato looked sooooooo gooooooood compared to my dry grilled chicken potato with no sour cream or butter on it =( I didn't want to ask for any since we requested those plastic spoons, forks and knives. I would post a picture but I didn't get a good one today. Btw, I am ALWAYS posting up food pictures from my phone to Facebook, so I might as well start posting them here too!

So I know this post is supposed to be about this Victoria's Secret Pink --- New Orleans Saints Lace-Up Crew sweat shirt.

Photo credits to Victoria's Secret. I would have taken my own picture but my sister is wrapping it up for Christmas =)
My sister got this for me at Vicky's retailing at $52.50 for 40% off! NFL apparel was 40% off in store. I checked online and it doesn't seem to be offered online for all NFL apparel, just select items.

My sister is always spoiling me and it makes me feel so guilty (she wouldn't even let me pay for lunch and told the cashier don't take my money because I don't work, when I SO DO. lol). So when she told me to pick anything from the Saints section I initially told her no. But because she is super generous and was going to get all our sisters-in-law and aunts Saints' apparel anyway, well, I might as well have picked one out right? I need something to wear because my ex-favorite Saint, Jeremy Shockey, no longer plays for us. (Jerseys down the drain!)

I grabbed this one at first: the New Orleans Saints Metallic Scoopneck Tee. Orig. $32.50 Sale $22.50
I love the cut & fit, the scoopneck, and the faded graphic efffect. What I didn't like was the sheer material they had to use to have that faded effect. Also, the extra small tees they had left were either dirty or the fleur de lis graphic was messed up. I hope to maybe do a video tutorial on the lettering. It looks so easy to achieve! So anyway, I passed on the tee and got the sweat shirt. =)

Photo edited with PhotoWonder app for Android. Lomo effect applied then Blue Tone. Who needs instragram? lol
Here is me in the fitting room of Victoria's Secret. It's cute huh? Here is the online description:

This top makes the perfect tiebreaker. Sweats to live, love and lounge in.
  • Print graphic on front
  • Kangaroo pocket
  • Imported cotton/polyester

If you were wondering who number 67 is... The answer is... That's not someone's jersey number. It's the year the Saints franchise was started. =D

Anywho, this is a love-hate relationship. I loveeeeee the fact that they put '67 on and I want to love it so badly. But! The piece looks to be inspired by vintage football sweat shirts with the heather grey, and the cut of the shoulders make my manly shoulders look football-player-esque. -_- It runs big to be oversized. In the photo I am wearing an XS. At Victoria's Secret you should usually go down a size anyway. I am a solid small in most clothes but an extra small there. The cashier told us it looks best with leggings and can't really be pulled off with jeans. I didn't pay attention to comfort and warmth because I was going to explode with McAlister's sweet tea! Here it obviously looks cozy though. In case you were wondering, I'm wearing Antiq Denim jeans and Forever 21 boots. The watch is from Rue 21.

I love that Victoria's Secret carries all the NFL teams now! Before they only had a few teams and I don't really remember seeing the Saints listed. This was right after they won Super Bowl XLIV. Man, I really wish LSU merch was on sale too. The sequin shirts were $98 or so! Cute but no thanks!

I like to visit retailmenot.com for coupon deals before I make an online purchase!

Yay for my first fashion related blog! I'm such a motor mouth. Or motor fingers.

New (Temporary) Banner!

Hey lovelies! Last night instead of studying for my Genetics final I decided to make a temporary banner for this blog. I know it's not centered in the header, but it's temporary anyway so I don't mind too much. I hope to make my own buttons for twitter and youtube and everything for the next one. Wow I need to make a facebook fanpage! I always hesitate because I fear no one will like it! =P

I have a tip on how you can take backgrounds and make them continuous on photoshop instead of copying and pasting, lining them up and whatnot.
  • I used Adobe Photoshop CS ONE (I need an upgrade!)
  • I used a cheetah and diamond background that coincidentally is the background for my texts (I have the ChompSMS app)
  • I copied the background into a new project and hit Edit > Define Pattern
  • I went back into my banner project clicked the paint bucket tool
  • When the options come up near the top and it says Fill: Foreground in a drop down box I select "Pattern"
  • In the "Pattern:" drop down box I select the new cheetah print that pops up.
  • Use the fill tool and voilĂ ! You have your background slapped on.
I used the same method to add lines on top for texture.
  • I went into a new project 4 by 4 px with the background TRANSPARENT
  • I right clicked on the brush tool and selected the pencil tool instead
  • From the "Brush:" drop down box I selected the very first brush (Master Diameter at 1px, Hardness at 100%) This gives one pixel, clean and crisp
  • I used white as my foreground color and I drew one line diagonally in the project (zoom in to see!)
  • I again hit Edit > Define pattern
  • I went back into my banner project and created a new layer. Make sure this layer is on top of everything you wish it to be on top of.
  • I used the same instructions with the paint bucket tool
  • Once you have that popped on go in the layers window and in the blending changes drop down box hit "Overlay." If you're not familiar with where that is it says "Normal"
Phew! That was a lot of steps. Hope this post was helpful and I hope you learned something new!

I'm Back Lovelies!

Hello everyone! If you seeing this and are still following this blog, please continue! I will try to blog more often and at least have a matching post for each of my videos. Next I will be filming yet another fashion haul, a video on my FIRST designer shoes (TORY BURCH!), and perhaps my thoughts on the L'Oreal lipsticks "Fairest Nude" and "Persistent Plum." Of course I couldn't wait to just slap them on my lips so they're gonna look gross! Just hang tight everyone until finals are over! I definitely have not been sticking to my studies as much as I should. Even writing this post is procrastinating! If I have to retake Physics I ONE more freaking time... Anyway, thanks for all of the support!
